Tec21 Model: Tec challenges you

Our challenge-based educational model develops the competencies that will enable you to face up to the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century creatively and strategically.

With an education that will accompany you throughout your life, our aim is for you to be aware of the needs of the environment, acquire a systemic vision of problems and develop the capacity to solve them.

Right from the first semester, you will be participating in activities to develop your capacity to identify opportunities, find resources, take risks and recover from failure.

In addition, the model empowers you to make more decisions about your university studies as you progress, in order to develop a unique profile.

The three stages of the model

1 Acquire the basic knowledge of your area and face challenges to reinforce this knowledge.

2 Develop the competencies relevant to your degree through more focused courses and challenges.

3 Give a personal touch to your degree program through specialization within or outside your discipline.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I enter the Residence Hall at any time?

Of course! We know that sometimes you will have to stay up late to study or go out with your friends, however, remember that it is important to register your arrival at the reception of your building mentioning your name, building and room. If at any time you are going to stay overnight outside of Residencias Tec, don't forget to notify reception.

2. When can I arrive and when should I leave the Residences?

The date on which residents can occupy their rooms is the Thursday before the first day of classes in the semester periods and, in the case of summer, it will be the Friday before the first day of classes. The deadline for residents to remain in the residence halls will be 24 to 48 hours (about 2 days) after the last final exam.

3. I have problems with my roommate, should I leave the Residence Hall?

Of course not! With the help of your prefect and the coordination of the area of your building we will look for a solution to your situation, to find the best option for your case.

4. Can my visitor stay the night in my room?

It is not allowed for any visitors to stay overnight in your room; however, you can check if there is any availability and schedule your accommodation directly at the Residence Halls on your campus.

5. Can I stay on vacation in Residences?

We want you to enjoy your stay in the city and at Tec, but we also want you to enjoy your home, so take advantage of this time with your family or friends, since Residencias Tec does not offer service on dates after the end of courses.

6. Will I be able to leave my belongings on vacation?

Some campuses have a belongings storage service for those residents who have a space reserved for the following academic period. On other occasions, residents must store their belongings in their closets at the end of the semester.

7. I have some disagreement, where should I go?

We assure you that these will be minimal since we are constantly working to offer you excellent experience. In the unlikely event that any disagreement arises, do not hesitate to share it with your prefect, they will know where to go and tell you the actions to take.

8. Can I choose my roommate?

Yes, it is possible, all you need to do is meet the following requirements:

  • Let them request each other.
  • That they request the same building (applies only to the Monterrey campus).
  • They must carry out the admission requirements and processes at the same time.
