Schedule and take your tests
Important: You must have a valid photo ID to present at any of the tests you take at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
a. Admission test: Academic Aptitude Test (PAA)
This test evaluates your math and verbal skills. On the Tec Application page, you can select the date and time to take the test. The test is conducted in person at our campuses and/or testing centers.
We recommend you prepare for the Academic Aptitude Test using the following resources:
If your first language is English, you may take the ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) instead. These tests are accepted for the undergraduate admission process.
If you decide to take the SAT, register at: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/registration/international-testing. Don’t forget to enter Tecnológico de Monterrey’s code 0843 so we receive your results.
- If you took the SAT or ACT, after submitting your Tec Application, go to the requirements section to upload proof or schedule a PAA test.
- Select the proof submission option and upload your SAT or ACT score report.
- Your document will be reviewed (it must be clear and valid). Monitor its status, as you may receive feedback.
- Once your proof is approved and you complete the other requirements, the committee will review your file and may request you take another admission test if necessary.
b. Institutional English Placement Test
On the Tec Application page, you can also select the date and time to take the English Placement Test (EUC).
You can also demonstrate your English proficiency through authorized exams* such as TOEFL iBT, B2 First (FCE), B1 Preliminary (PET), Pearson Placement Test, or Pearson Level Test. If you have results from any of these, upload your proof in the Tec Application.
*Check with your advisor if you have another certificate.
Note: If your EUC result corresponds to A1 or A2 levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), you will need to take English leveling courses as part of your academic load:
- Level A1: during the 1st and 2nd semesters
- Level A2: during the 1st semester
Your academic load cannot exceed 18 credits, including English leveling courses, during the first and/or second semester.
Keep in mind all Tec students are required to demonstrate a B2 level of English according to the CEFR to graduate.
c. Additional requirements
The Admissions Committee may request additional documents or steps to complete your file and make a decision:
- Additional Academic Aptitude Test
- Additional English Test (EUC)
