Tecnológico de Monterrey was founded in 1943 thanks to the vision of Don Eugenio Garza Sada and a group of entrepreneurs who formed a civil association called Enseñanza e Investigación Superior, A.C.

Tec is a private, non-profit, independent university, unaffiliated with any political or religious parties. The work of Tec de Monterrey and all its campuses is supported by civil associations composed of numerous prominent leaders from across the country who are committed to the quality of higher education.

Each year, the advisors of these civil associations meet to set the goals that will guide major decisions, ensuring that Tecnológico de Monterrey fulfills its objective of becoming a driving force for community and national development.

Tec de Monterrey is supported by the national community, which participates in the raffles organized by the institution to expand the scholarship program and investment in infrastructure. 

To operate as an educational institution, Tec de Monterrey enjoys the status of Escuela Libre Universitaria.

Seventy-five years after the founding of Tec de Monterrey, here are some of the main historical events that distinguish our institution.

At Tecnológico de Monterrey, our vision is to develop leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit, a humanistic outlook, and international competitiveness. As an institution, we must strive to enhance our strengths, becoming more relevant to our audiences through the unique differentiators that set us apart.

To this end, Tecnológico de Monterrey works on a unique and cutting-edge educational model, which aims to improve students' competitiveness in their professional fields by enhancing the skills of current generations to develop the competencies required to become leaders capable of facing the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Monterrey Campus' enrollment limit

At Tecnológico de Monterrey, we are committed to the academic quality of the programs we offer and to the continuous search for talented students who can benefit from our educational experience.

We have recently implemented an innovative educational model at our university that prepares students for the challenges of the future in a more comprehensive and holistic manner. This innovation has been very well received, reflected in a significant increase in the number of students interested in pursuing their professional studies at Tec.

To ensure that we can indeed fulfill this promise and provide the university experience they aspire to, we have defined a maximum enrollment limit for new professional-level students for the term beginning in August 2020 at some campuses, such as the Monterrey Campus.

Therefore, we recommend that all students interested in enrolling at this university complete their admission process in a timely manner to secure their place in the 2020 cohort.
