Artistic and Cultural Talent

We wholeheartedly believe that through artistic expression, students can cultivate their potential in literature, drama, music, art and dance and express their concerns, interests and emotions.

We offer workshops, cultural and arts classes where you can learn and grow your skills in different artistic expressions. Such as contemporary dance, jazz, hip, hop, Latin rhythms, Arabian and Irish dance. As well as take classes in guitar, keyboard, percussion, painting, photography, amongst many others.

You can participate in plays, concerts, musical theater productions and/or join our theater, music, dance companies.

At Tec, you can participate in nationwide competitions in dance, creative writing, monologs and music performance. Also, some traditional folk dance companies have travelled and toured Europe, Asia, Latin America and United States.

You will appreciate fine arts through the “Escuela de Espectadores”, or collaborate with masters in lighting, scenery, sound, costume, make-up, through the “Escuela de Productores”.

The opportunities are exponential. Extraordinary talents have cultivated their talents within our institution. Our alumni include such talents as Ignacio Llantada, Paloma Cordero, Horacio Castelo, Alberto (Beto) Castillo who lived these moments as students and are now stars in their respective fields.

Talento Atlético y Deportivo

We are convinced that at practicing any sports activity gives you skills and experiences that contribute to your full development. We provide spaces that will help you to either maintain a healthy lifestyle or achieve your athletic goals. There are programs for everyone at the athletics and sports department.

Sport classes

You can join a sport class at any level in which you can learn, practice or improve your skills. We offer classes in athletics, boxing, basketball, yoga, capoeira, spinning, TRX, soccer, swimming, taekwondo, rugby or volleyball, just to name a few.

Recreational

If you are passionate about a sport, you can participate in our intramural tournaments in table tennis, E-sports, soccer, basketball, volleyball, drone racing and others.

Intramurals are organized based on student´s interest and current trends. The tournaments are between students from your campus and also from other campuses.

High performance

If you are already an outstanding athlete, you can join one of our 156 varsity teams in 23 different disciplines nationwide and compete against other universities as a proud Borrego. With talent, discipline, and your coach´s guidance and support, you can achieve your competitive goals but also learn lessons that will last a lifetime. Our varsity teams represent our school at national competitions such as CONADEIP Championships, CONDDE National University Games and other high-level team sports leagues. Our student athletes have competed representing México at international competitions such as FISU World University Games, Central American and Pan-American Games, World Championships and Olympic Games. Our alumni include extraordinary world-class sports talents such as Fernando Platas (Diving), Luis Rivera (Athletics), Eduardo Najera (Basketball), Bibiana Candelas (Beach Volleyball), Ana Paula de la Peña (Tennis), among others.

A través de iniciativas, sinergias y acciones, en el Tecnológico de Monterrey priorizamos el bienestar de toda nuestra comunidad en áreas de salud, movilidad, alimentación y entornos seguros.

Landmarks

¡El campus Ciudad de México lo tiene todo! Con miras a futuro e inspirándonos en los retos del presente, hemos diseñado nuestros espacios, edificios y aulas para sacar el mayor provecho del modelo educativo. 

Se trata de un ambicioso proyecto arquitectónico creado alrededor de seis pilares principales: es tecnológico, flexible, sustentable, resiliente, posee una mayor vinculación con la comunidad y ofrece la mejor experiencia para nuestros estudiantes, profesores, colaboradores y visitantes.  Es el resultado de un riguroso proceso de planeación con los más altos estándares de seguridad en infraestructura, superando lo establecido por las normas vigentes para edificaciones educativas.

El campus es atemporal, contemporáneo e internacional; los elementos que lo componen no pasan de moda y utiliza los recursos de forma racional, son edificios durables y de bajo mantenimiento. 

Construido bajo estándares internacionales y las normas de seguridad mexicanas (Reglamento de Construcciones actual y NTC (2017)), el campus Ciudad de México se erige como una estructura de tipo A2, usada en hospitales, museos, aeropuertos y estaciones de policía y bomberos; con pilas colocadas a 40 metros de profundidad, aproximadamente 100 en cada edificio y una cimentación monolítica tipo losa de 1 metro 50 centímetros, haciendo uso de concreto de alta resistencia, nuestros edificios responden a la flexibilidad y contención del movimiento.


Sustentable

Comprometidos con nuestra comunidad y el medio ambiente, se desarrolló un proyecto de arquitectura de paisaje en donde en conjunto con expertos en arboricultura urbana, se integraron árboles que desde siempre nos han acompañado y se agregó vegetación nativa de Tlalpan, generando así un microclima dentro de las instalaciones mientras contribuimos a la protección de la diversidad biológica de la zona.

Además, para mitigar el impacto hidrológico durante la temporada de lluvias, se ha implementado un sistema tecnológico vanguardista que ayuda a distribuir el agua pluvial a través de biozanjas, fuentes que permiten la correcta circulación del agua hacia los tanques tormenta del campus, contribuyendo al sistema hidráulico de la Ciudad de México.


El Campus del Futuro

En el campus Ciudad de México nuestras y nuestros estudiantes se preparan para resolver los retos en un entorno tecnológico y de constante evolución.

Los edificios son inteligentes, sostenibles y están conectados entre si a la Planta Central, que aloja los principales sistemas de ingeniería de las instalaciones y es la encargada de abastecer y concentrar los servicios de distribución de aire acondicionado, agua potable, agua tratada, etc.

Es el primer campus diseñado desde su concepto bajo el modelo educativo, por lo que los salones de clase son tecnológicos, flexibles y pueden adaptarse para nuevas configuraciones necesarias para el futuro. 

Al interior de las aulas, podemos encontrar mobiliario y tecnología pensada en brindar a las y los estudiantes las herramientas necesarias para aprender de manera diferente, desde la iluminación, acústica, comodidad y distribución, hasta la movilidad y flexibilidad dentro de los propios espacios. 

Haciendo uso de tecnología HPRS (conoce más de estas aulas aquí) y cobertura WIFI mejoramos la experiencia de estudiantes y profesores. Todas las aulas de clase cuentan con proyectores (de tiro corto o tiro largo), pantalla retráctil, pintarrones y conectividad de audio y video.


Campus Interurbano

El campus Ciudad de México posee mayor vinculación con la comunidad al eliminar las barreras convencionales y utilizar los edificios para crear una línea de seguridad embebida y no intrusiva que se mezcla con el entorno. 

La inclusión de terrazas, andadores peatonales y grandes espacios de reunión pública sirven como un oasis urbano que invita a nuestros vecinos y comunidad del campus a actividades que forman parte del Distrito de Innovación Tlalpan. (Más información sobre el DIT.)

El nuevo campus Ciudad de México es el resultado de un profundo compromiso con nuestros estudiantes, profesores, investigadores, colaboradores y vecinos, quienes han sido desde siempre nuestra fuente de inspiración y el motor para ser cada día mejores. Discover the World of AI: Beyond Fiction

We’ve all likely heard the term “artificial intelligence,” but do we know what it means? AI is about developing technologies that enable machines to perform complex tasks requiring skills like reasoning, problem-solving, understanding language, and analyzing data. UNESCO describes it as a set of tools that mimic or even surpass some human capabilities, such as creativity, language, and logical reasoning. 

How does it work? AI is based on key principles: learning from data (machine learning), processing information through artificial neural networks, and optimizing decisions to make them more efficient. Thanks to these principles, AI systems can identify patterns, adapt to new situations, and improve their performance over time, mimicking some aspects of human thought processes. 

From ANI to AGI: AI That Transforms 

Are there different types of AI? Are they the same? What are they? Artificial intelligence (AI) is divided into two main types: Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) and Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). 

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)

ANI, the type of AI we use today, is designed for specific tasks like playing chess, driving cars, or answering questions. It relies on technologies such as machine learning, neural networks, and optimization. It also uses tools like symbolic logic and knowledge graphs to organize information. An example of this is ChatGPT, which processes language and answers questions naturally.

On the other hand, AGI aims to match human intelligence, but this remains a work in progress. This goal aspires for machines to possess cognitive abilities similar to or even more advanced than humans

What does this unit do?

1. Bioengineering of processes to identify and produce bioactives.

4. Generation of clinical interventions that positively impact society.

Develops and optimizes bioengineering platforms to produce new commercial products focused on the early detection and prevention of metabolic disorders associated with obesity.

What does this unit do?

1. Bioengineering of processes to identify and produce bioactives.
2. Development of medical devices for early detection and monitoring.
3. Engineering of delivery systems and detection of molecules.
4. Generation of clinical interventions that positively impact society.

  • Selection of novel biomolecules associated with metabolic diseases.

Reconoce a EXATEC que son agentes de cambio, comprometidos con su comunidad y que, a través de sus valores e impacto extraordinario, transforman realidades.

 

 

Preguntas frecuentes

¿Quién puede realizar nominaciones?

Cualquier persona, física o moral, puede realizar nominaciones a cualquiera de las distinciones de los Premios EXATEC.

¿A quién nominar?

Criterios de nominación:

  • Ser egresado de profesional, posgrado o preparatoria del Tecnológico de Monterrey.
  • Tener al menos 30 años de graduado de profesional o 50 años de edad. (Trayectoria EXATEC). Tener al menos 15 años de graduado de profesional o 35 años de edad. (Mérito EXATEC).
  • EXATEC que refleja los valores del Tec (Innovación, integridad, colaboración, empatía e inclusión y ciudadanía global).
  • Cumplir con toda la información requerida en el formato de nominación (expediente completo).

Definición de características:

  • Líder con impacto social: Comprometido con la comunidad, contribuye de manera activa a mejorar el entorno, e impulsa o participa en causas filantrópicas.
  • Líder innovador: Busca la generación de nuevas ideas y crea las condiciones necesarias para el desarrollo.
  • Líder inspirador: Con ascendencia y autoridad moral en la comunidad, reconocido y respetado por llevar una vida íntegra.
  • Líder global: Con presencia nacional o internacional e impacto profesional en cualquier disciplina.

 

*No se considerarán las nominaciones que no cumplan con estas consideraciones.
*Se aceptan nominaciones póstumas, no mayores a cinco años de haber fallecido el nominado.
*No se aceptan autonominaciones.

 

Toda postulación o nominación de candidatos debe quedar registrada a través del portal EXATEC en el formato de nominación oficial. No serán consideradas nominaciones recibidas por otros medios.

Aquellos candidatos que no hayan sido seleccionados como ganadores podrán ser nominados nuevamente en años futuros.

Los ganadores de cada distinción serán contactados directamente, previo aviso al postulante.

¿Puedo autonominarme?

No. La nominación debe ser recibida por un tercero (persona física o moral). Si consideras que cuentas con el perfil y trayectoria para ganar un Premio EXATEC, pide a alguien que te nomine.

¿Puedo nominar a mi candidato a ambas distinciones?

Si no tienes clara la mejor distinción para nominar a tu candidato, postúlalo a ambas distinciones.

¿Cuál es el periodo de nominación?

El periodo de nominación es del 15 de febrero al 30 de agosto de 2024.

¿Puedo nominar a alguien si ya se cerró la convocatoria?

Las nominaciones recibidas después de la fecha límite serán consideradas para el año siguiente.

¿Dónde puedo realizar la nominación?

La nominación se realiza a través del formato de postulación en línea en la sección “Convocatoria” en el botón "Nomina"

La página sólo está activa durante el periodo de nominaciones.

¿Se aceptan nominaciones póstumas?

Sí, siempre y cuando el nominado no tenga más de cinco años de haber fallecido.

¿Cuántas postulaciones puedo realizar?

No hay límite en el número de nominaciones posibles. Puedes nominar a todo EXATEC que cumpla con los criterios señalados.

¿Quién conforma el jurado?

El jurado para cada distinción se integra por miembros de la Institución, representantes o líderes EXATEC, e invitados de la comunidad allegada al Tec.

¿Qué reciben los ganadores?

Cada ganador recibe:

  • Escultura distintiva “Trayectoria EXATEC” o “Mérito EXATEC”.
  • Reconocimiento escrito y enmarcado (tamaño título), entregado por las autoridades del Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Se espera que galardonados sean parte de la estrategia de comunicación y promoción de los premios y de la importancia de la vinculación de los egresados con el Tec.

¿Mi postulación puede ser anónima?

Sí. Dentro del formulario de postulación puedes seleccionar la opción respectiva para que tu nombre no se divulgue en el proceso. Sin embargo, deberás proporcionarnos tus datos por si necesitamos realizarte consultas referentes a tu nominado.

¿Mi postulado puede ganar en ambas distinciones?

No. Durante el proceso de evaluación y selección de ganadores, se identificará la distinción que mejor represente a tu postulado. Un mismo candidato no puede ganar ambas distinciones en el mismo año, pero sí puede ganar una de ellas y seguir participando para la otra en años subsecuentes.
