Update your information:

If you are currently enrolled in PrepaTec or have already graduated from PrepaTec with a GPA of 80 or higher, log in to MiTec and type Solicitud de admission y becas (in Spanish) in the search bar. Review your information, update it, and submit the application by clicking Submit.

If your PrepaTec GPA is below 80 (cumulative GPA on your transcript), we will review your academic and extracurricular profile, as well as your general skills, and based on this evaluation, we will let you know which additional requirements you must meet to complete your admission process.

If you are interested in a program with special requirements, you will need to submit additional documents beyond those mentioned above. Some of these programs include:

  • Bachelor in Global Business (BGB)
  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with minor in Systems Engineering (BIE)
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering (BME)

For programs in the Health area, once your academic and extracurricular profile has been evaluated, the committee may request an interview and/or a test to complete your application. Health programs include:

Place Reservation Payment

Confirm your spot by making the $9,000 MXN payment* through the Tec Application service in MiTec. You can pay online or print a bank deposit slip. If you are entering a Health program, remember to complete your initial evaluations on time.

Afterward, you’ll receive information about the "Me Inscribo" session, where you will find out your first-semester class schedule.

As a PrepaTec student, your tuition coverage for entering the undergraduate program is already paid. However, if you decide to start your undergraduate studies in a semester other than the one immediately following your PrepaTec graduation, this coverage will need to be paid.

* Some programs with limited enrollment require a different tuition deposit amount. You can check this in the Tec Application service.

Admitted students who choose not to enroll at Tecnológico de Monterrey may request a refund of the Place Reservation Payment within 15 days of making the payment. If the payment is made within the 15 days prior to the start of classes for the semester in which you applied, you may request a refund up to one business day before the start date. If not requested within the indicated timeframe, the amount will be non-refundable.

This payment is non-transferable.

Complete your application file with everything that makes you unique

On the Tec Application page, you will see the requirements according to your profile and the program you choose. Make sure to fulfill each one of them.

A very important part of our process is getting to know you holistically. For this reason, we will ask you to complete a form with information about your extracurricular résumé and answer two questions about who you are today and your future goals (essay).

a. Share your résumé
Your résumé is a brief description of your academic journey. It includes questions about the achievements, skills, and abilities you have gained and developed during your high school studies. It’s important that you have evidence of the activities you describe, as we may ask you to share them with us. Include your participation in all areas, as achievements in every discipline, whether in person or online, from 2019 to the present will help you create an outstanding résumé.

b. Write your essay
Let your words flow. Tell us in writing about the experiences that have shaped who you are today, your future expectations, and the reasons why you believe you should be part of Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Both the résumé and the essay are key elements in the admission decision. Complete both documents in the admission requirements section within the Tec Application.

We share several videos with tips to help you prepare your résumé and essay:

This test evaluates your math and verbal skills. On the Tec Application page, you can select the date and time to take the test. The test is conducted in person at our campuses and/or testing centers.

We recommend you prepare for the Academic Aptitude Test using the following resources:

If your first language is English, you may take the ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) instead. These tests are accepted for the undergraduate admission process.

If you decide to take the SAT, register at: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/registration/international-testing. Don’t forget to enter Tecnológico de Monterrey’s code 0843 so we receive your results.

  2. Select the proof submission option and upload your SAT or ACT score report.
  3. Your document will be reviewed (it must be clear and valid). Monitor its status, as you may receive feedback.
  4. Once your proof is approved and you complete the other requirements, the committee will review your file and may request you take another admission test if necessary.

b. Institutional English Placement Test
On the Tec Application page, you can also select the date and time to take the English Placement Test (EUC).

You can also demonstrate your English proficiency through authorized exams* such as TOEFL iBT, B2 First (FCE), B1 Preliminary (PET), Pearson Placement Test, or Pearson Level Test. If you have results from any of these, upload your proof in the Tec Application.

*Check with your advisor if you have another certificate.

Note: If your EUC result corresponds to A1 or A2 levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), you will need to take English leveling courses as part of your academic load:

  • Level A1: during the 1st and 2nd semesters
  • Level A2: during the 1st semester

Your academic load cannot exceed 18 credits, including English leveling courses, during the first and/or second semester.

Keep in mind all Tec students are required to demonstrate a B2 level of English according to the CEFR to graduate.

Tec21 Model: Tec challenges you

Our challenge-based educational model develops the competencies that will enable you to face up to the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century creatively and strategically.

With an education that will accompany you throughout your life, our aim is for you to be aware of the needs of the environment, acquire a systemic vision of problems and develop the capacity to solve them.

Right from the first semester, you will be participating in activities to develop your capacity to identify opportunities, find resources, take risks and recover from failure.

In addition, the model empowers you to make more decisions about your university studies as you progress, in order to develop a unique profile.

What is a challenge?

A challenge is an opportunity to learn something new and reinforce what you already know. To solve it, you need to apply yourself, investigate and interact in the “real world”. You won’t be on your own: you will have a set of personal and technological resources and tools, as well as the advice of faculty who will accompany you throughout the process. Its resolution implies a certain degree of difficulty and a duration that will awaken your interest and enthusiasm and produce a sense of achievement.

The three stages of the model

1 Acquire the basic knowledge of your area and face challenges to reinforce this knowledge.

2 Develop the competencies relevant to your degree through more focused courses and challenges.

3 Give a personal touch to your degree program through specialization within or outside your discipline.
