Hi, my name is Francisco Zamora, and I am a CONCAUSA 2030 Ambassador. I am studying International Relations as part of the first generation of the Tec Model at Tec de Monterrey and am currently in my second semester.
Within this university setting, I have had many roles: student, leader, young entrepreneur, speaker... but I don’t think it matters how you are defined or any title you are given, because I consider myself to be a passionate person. I firmly believe that you will never get to the top if you don’t start at the bottom, and I have had to start over twice.
Since I started studying at Tec, I began to develop as a person by getting involved in several projects, including serving as Transformation Coordinator at On Campus Jobs. I have also enjoyed participating in external projects as Project Coordinator of the “Asociatec” recreational workshops, which led me to become an administrative member of the CONCAUSA 2030, as the youngest participant of the promotion.
In addition, I have participated in international congresses for young leaders and developed social entrepreneurship projects, activities I am passionate about, while enjoying my hobbies such as reading, doing exercise, eating healthily, without which I could not feel fulfilled.
However, I didn’t always have that balance in my life. In my third year of high school, I lost everything: my projects, my friends, my passion…everything. I focused on my appearance, didn’t eat properly, overexerted my body to the point that all these events resulted in feelings of depression and anxiety. Ambition can blind you. For me, rather than a trauma, this was a lesson. I eventually understood that nothing is more important than my wellbeing and then to project this towards my family, my community, my country, and towards the world.
Not long after, I saw the fruits of my efforts, thanks to the support of my family and my friends, which gave me the opportunity to fulfill my potential 100%, participating in meetings with professionals and specialists, attending national leadership summits, while never forgetting social entrepreneurship, and even becoming a motivational speaker as a result of all my life experiences.
I will never tire. I don’t have to wait until I graduate to implement a project related to my degree because if others can do it, why can’t I? I am an Outlier because my story begin at Tec and end up changing the world.

Hola, soy Francisco Zamora y soy Embajador CONCAUSA 2030 y Conferencista Motivacional.

Hi, my name is Arturo Casas, and I am the cofounder of Jóvenes Unidos para la Tecnología A.C. (Youth United for Technology) and a social listening intern. I started at Tec de Monterrey four years ago.
For me, it was like walking into Disney World and getting on all the rides I could. I joined student groups and participated in extracurricular activities and internships at On Campus Jobs.
I am a Business Strategy Management student, an area where I found my passion, although not straight away. I started studying Physics and Industrial Engineering and ended up switching to a B.A. in Business Administration (LAE). This transition was a low point for me and I wanted to drop a course, but then I met my mentor and found my passion for research. I participated in the UNAM Congress for Research in Administrative Sciences and in the Tec Congress for Research and Development. I have been working for the past two years with Social Listening, a tool I use to monitor what is said on digital media about Tec.
One of my hobbies is encompassing creativity in my student life. I believe that doing things in different areas serves to create new things. This is how my participation as a junior mentor for a robotics project in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, came into being. We went to the world championships with this team.
As the rookie all-star, we won the inspiration award, innovation award, and the social-impact award. In liaison with the State Youth Institute (INJUVE) in Guadalupe, I joined forces with a friend and a teacher to create the non-profit association “United Youth for Technology”, with a network of young volunteers and the vision of connecting science and technology to the community service and social impact facet. It hasn’t been easy. We face challenges in the organization, coordination and management of human talent and financing in order to make the project financially sustainable.
An experience that left its mark on me was when I once went with my dad to another country for a doctor’s appointment. They stopped us at the border because they thought we were undocumented immigrants. They just interviewed us, but on leaving we realized we didn’t have any means of transportation and I will never forget that my dad said, “Son, it doesn’t matter how, even if we have to walk, we’ll get there.” And that is what I think with all my projects, since:
difficulties just motivate me to keep going and help society progress.
Today, my aim is to transform reality and solve problems. I am an outlier because my story begin at Tec and end up changing the world

Hi, my name is Arturo Fuentes, and I am a member of the NFL Design Team in Mexico. My story starts when I transferred from Tec High School Campus Chihuahua to Tec Campus Monterrey to pursue my undergraduate degree. I studied architecture and during those years I fell completely in love with my degree. As a matter of fact, when I started, I hadn’t imagined myself doing this; in fact, I didn’t even know that this world existed. Ultimately, we are the product of our experiences and now I am the product of my decisions.
I started out in architectural design temporarily rather than permanently, and here I am five years on, doing what I love in gigantic sporting events.
Ever since I started my internship, I met people who became very important for my growth; my father and my grandfather never stopped believing in me. I have known how to make the most of all the opportunities and difficulties.
I have faced and that led me to become an Associate Architect at Populous, a global firm specialized in sports architecture, the first to bring an NFL game here to Mexico
I currently work in the offices located in Denver, in my second year as Design Director, and the youngest ever to reach this position in the company. Something that fills me with pride is my participation in the Super Bowl, not just regarding what I did, but also my team together with me.
I love knowing that at the end of the day, I will be pleasantly surprised at being in the design process to find creative solutions; it is like being part of something big.
The same applies to my other two passions. When I have some free time, I enjoy playing music and practicing karate. When I arrived in Denver, I practiced karate competitively to qualify to the US national team, and when I can’t compete, I serve as a judge.
But the whole of my story doesn’t start here; my story began a long time ago … I am an outlier because my story begin at Tec and end up changing the world.

Hi, my name is Francia Sánchez, and I am a starting player on the Tec de Monterrey volleyball varsity team. My story starts when I was a little girl and my father instilled in me a love for practicing sports. He was a basketball player and, a long time before I played, he would take me to games so I could understand how wonderful it is to be an athlete, which is when I began to lean towards volleyball.
I continued along my path next to the people who believed in me. Even though at that time I couldn’t even hit the ball, they promised that in five years’ time I would be the best center in the country. I believed in their words and these words made me stronger and stronger.
Tec noticed my growth and now that I am a member of the volleyball varsity team, I have understood the potential that was hiding in me and that I was able to fulfill to the maximum when they made me a starting player from the very beginning.
At present, I am studying a B.A. in Marketing, while running a small artisan jewelry store I started, all at the same time. I think that the greatest challenges you can face are those that take you out of your comfort zone, such as for me when, coming from Mexicali and facing the diversity of Tec Campus Monterrey; I thought about leaving in the first semester.
However, I remembered that my surroundings weren’t trying to set boundaries for me, but rather trying to make me concentrate on what I had come to do - to study and to play. This is what I pushed myself to do every day and is what helped me to improve.
This opportunity I had to be an athlete and do what I like best is like living life another way. I am an outlier because my story begin at Tec and end up changing the world.
