Through the convergence of different disciplines (biotechnology, genomics, synthetic biology and biomedicine), this group promotes emerging and innovative technologies, techniques and devices to solve health problems.

Research areas

  • Omics platforms for production of metabolites of biological interest.
  • High performance selection for the purification of macromolecules with biological activity.
  • Study of the response and effect of stress on different pathologies (cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, etc.).
  • Synthetic biology for development and optimization of new cell therapies.
  • Use and development of the CRISPR tool in mammalian and plant cells.
  • Development of microbial technologies based on omics studies.
  • Plant-microorganism interactions for solutions focused on agroecosystems.
