B.S. in Civil Engineering graduates from Tec de Monterrey face diverse challenges, mainly recognizing what society needs for its development, in order to plan, design, build, operate and maintain the build environment, applying cutting-edge technology, adhering to standards and regulations, and with a deep sense of commitment to the environment. Thanks to the integral preparation you will receive in this Civil Engineering degree, on graduating you will be able to develop professionally in different areas of business, services and research within the built environment development industry, such as:
- Construction and real-estate companies
- Structural design firms for building, roadway and transportation projects
- Hydraulic and water treatment system design firms and companies that conduct environmental impact studies
- Management of projects and companies that supervise public and private infrastructure works

The objective of the B.S. in Civil Engineering program is to train professionals that plan, design and/or manage construction projects for transportation infrastructure (roads, bridges, railways, ports, airports), building (housing, offices, industrial buildings) and management of water (dams, catchment and control works, drinking water and sewerage networks, storm drainage, treatment plants) with a high commitment to the environment, as well as ethical and social responsibility. Its graduates are entrepreneurs, who lead the implementation of public or private projects related to civil engineering, using the most innovative practices and technologies in their professional field.
Competencies
- Design structural systems applying advanced methods, the regulatory framework, technical specification, and efficiency and sustainability criteria.
- Manage construction projects efficiently, complying with current technical standards and economic-financial feasibility.
- Design hydraulic infrastructure systems based on the established standards and considering the integral management of the natural environment.
- Conduct geotechnical studies, in accordance with current scientific and regulatory criteria.
- Design transportation and service infrastructure systems, based on the current needs of a specific region, regulations and development plans.

Exploration
- You will open your competency file and add to it throughout your degree program.
- You will learn the foundations of the area of Built Environment.

- You will participate in a challenge that integrates all the competencies to be developed in this phase.
Focus
- You will acquire the core competencies of your degree, in other words, those that distinguish it.
- You will participate in more focused challenges to reinforce what you have learned and broaden your basic knowledge.
- You will have the elements to decide whether to deepen your knowledge or diversify and, subsequently, build your specialization plan.

Specialization
- You have decided between diversifying or focusing deeply in your major, which you will achieve by choosing a concentration or a stay, to name a few of your options. The TEC Semester is a flexible time to start.
- You will develop the competencies related to your specialization, increasingly connected to your passions, interests and plans.
- By passing a concentration, you will develop your competencies, and, on graduating, will be a candidate for obtaining a Diploma in that concentration, after meeting the established requirements.

Campo Laboral
Gracias a la formación integral que recibirás en la carrera de Ingeniería Civil, al egresar podrás desarrollarte profesionalmente en distintas áreas de negocio o de servicios dentro de la industria de la construcción, como:
- Empresas constructoras e inmobiliarias
- Despachos de diseño estructural para proyectos de edificación, vías de comunicación y transporte
- Empresas de diseño de sistemas hidráulicos y de tratamiento de agua, así como empresas que realizan estudios de impacto ambiental

El programa de Ingeniería Civil tiene como objetivo formar ingenieros que planeen, diseñen y/o gestionen proyectos de construcción de infraestructura de transporte (carreteras, puentes, vías férreas, puertos, aeropuertos), de edificación (vivienda, oficinas, naves industriales) y manejo del agua (presas, obras de captación y control, redes de agua potable y alcantarillado, drenaje pluvial, plantas de tratamiento) con un alto compromiso con el medio ambiente, así como responsabilidad ética y social. Sus egresados son emprendedores, que lideran la realización de proyectos públicos o privados relacionados con la ingeniería civil, utilizando las prácticas y tecnologías más innovadoras en su campo profesional.
Competencias:
Diseña sistemas estructurales aplicando métodos avanzados, el marco normativo, las especificaciones técnicas y los criterios de eficiencia y sustentabilidad.
Gestiona proyectos de construcción de forma eficiente, cumpliendo con las normas técnicas vigentes y la factibilidad económico-financiera.
Diseña sistemas de infraestructura hidráulica, basándose en normas establecidas y considerando el manejo integral del entorno natural.
Realiza estudios geotécnicos, de acuerdo con criterios científicos y normativa vigente.
Diseña sistemas de infraestructura del transporte y de servicios, con base en las necesidades de una región determinada, la normativa y los planes de desarrollo vigentes.
Perfil de ingreso
El Tecnológico de Monterrey busca integrar en todas sus carreras profesionales a una nueva generación de estudiantes que hayan concluido sus estudios de bachillerato y que se distingan por ser: personas talentosas, entusiastas, comprometidas con el desarrollo de su entorno y con el bienestar de la sociedad; personas que tengan el potencial para concluir exitosamente su programa de licenciatura y convertirse en líderes con espíritu emprendedor, sentido humano y competitivos internacionalmente.
Antecedente académico de ingreso: Bachillerato o equivalente.

- Iniciarás tu expediente de competencias, mismo que irás alimentando a lo largo de tu carrera.

Enfoque

- Has decidido entre diversificarte o profundizar aún más en tu carrera y lo harás al elegir una concentración o una estancia, por mencionar algunas de tus opciones. El semestre Tec es el espacio de tiempo flexible para iniciar.
- Desarrollarás competencias propias de tu especialización, cada vez más conectadas a tus pasiones, intereses y planes.
- Al aprobar una concentración desarrollarás sus competencias y al graduarte serás candidata o candidato a obtener el Diploma de dicha concentración al cumplir con los requisitos establecidos.

The objective of the B.A. in International Business program is to train professionals capable of identifying and taking advantage of business opportunities around the world, aware of the global reality, developing innovative solutions in a multicultural context. Carry out research in technological development and innovation aimed at the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of ophthalmological pathologies that represent national and global health problems, from a multidisciplinary and translational approach making use of technologies in: cell therapy, tissues, biomedical devices, nanotechnology, bioinformatics models, biomaterials, biopharmaceuticals, clinical and epidemiological research.

Este programa se ofrece también como B.A. in Architecture en idioma inglés permitiendo a los egresados contar con un perfil multicultural.
Si cuentas con un nivel de inglés B2 de acuerdo al Marco Común Europeo de Referencia (MCER) podrás estudiar este Bachelor donde tendrás la oportunidad de:
• Cursar unidades de formación impartidas en inglés
• Realizar proyectos con socios formadores de perfil transnacional
• Cursar unidades de formación con profesores Elite Huésped Internacionales así como con estudiantes extranjeros
• Cursar concentraciones, Semanas TEC y/o Semestre TEC en inglés dentro y fuera de México (opcional)
• Obtener una constancia de Bachelor en tu graduación al cumplir con los requisitos del programa, adicional al título de Arquitectura
Para poder obtener la constancia de Bachelor deberás:

Al egresar de la carrera de Arquitectura, serás competente en:

Objetivo:
La carrera de Arquitectura del Tecnológico de Monterrey tiene como objetivo formar arquitectos que planeen, diseñen, construyan y administren espacios arquitectónicos y urbanos que necesita el ser humano para desarrollarse integralmente. Sus egresados son diseñadores de espacios sustentables, promotores de oportunidades inmobiliarias, con una sólida conciencia urbana y ambiental y con dominio de las tecnologías para el diseño, la representación y la construcción. Poseen una actitud crítica, una conciencia humanística y un compromiso social y ético a través de la preservación ambiental y el mejoramiento de su comunidad en lo económico y lo social.
Competencias:
Genera soluciones arquitectónicas a partir de métodos de investigación que responden a las necesidades de los usuarios, con un enfoque sistémico.
Diseña espacios arquitectónicos aplicando criterios de habitabilidad, constructibilidad y sostenibilidad.
Desarrolla proyectos constructivos con base en las premisas de diseño, los criterios de seguridad, legalidad, rigor técnico-constructivo y sustentabilidad.
Gestiona proyectos arquitectónicos e inmobiliarios desde el inicio hasta su operación, aplicando una visión integral del hábitat.
Perfil de ingreso

Enfoque
- Te formarás en las competencias core, de tu carrera es decir, aquellas que la distinguen.

- Contarás con los elementos para decidir entre profundizar o diversificar y armar tu plan de especialización en consecuencia.

Especialización
- Has decidido entre diversificarte o profundizar aún más en tu carrera y lo harás al elegir una concentración o una estancia, por mencionar algunas de tus opciones. El semestre Tec es el espacio de tiempo flexible para iniciar.
- Desarrollarás competencias propias de tu especialización, cada vez más conectadas a tus pasiones, intereses y planes.
- Al aprobar una concentración desarrollarás sus competencias y al graduarte serás candidata o candidato a obtener el Diploma de dicha concentración al cumplir con los requisitos establecidos.

Estancias

The entity responsible for the personal information that you provide is Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (hereinafter “ITESM”), address Av. Eugenio Garza Sada Sur No. 2501, Colonia Tecnológico, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, C.P. 64700.
Personal information and sensitive personal information processed by ITESM
ITESM, as part of its student registration, will collect and process personal identification data, personal contact data, personal employment data, personal academic data, personal proprietary data and personal financial data.
In addition, we inform you that we process data related to any disability (sensitive personal data) with the only purpose of facilitating technologies used for your participation in the academic program. Likewise, data related to your health condition (sensitive personal data) that we may obtain, will be used for the purpose of providing you with the medical services you may require when visiting our facilities in case of accident or emergency. We undertake to use such information under strict security measures, always guaranteeing their confidentiality.
Primary purposes
ITESM will process your personal information for the following primary and necessary purposes in order to fulfill the obligations derived from our legal relationship:
A. As a Prospect:
- To offer you our educational services.
- To follow up on your requests for information on the services we offer.
- To follow up to your admission process.
- To inform you about the financial support, scholarships and/or loans.
- To process invoices for the services you agreed.
- To administer your admission exams.
- To inform you about results of your admission exams.
- For the administration of electronic access to the technological infrastructure and systems.
- To statistical reports, after the application of personal data dissociation mechanisms.
B. As a Student
- To provide you with all the educational services and carry out all the necessary activities for your academic and extracurricular development, and to contribute to your comprehensive preparation.
- To evaluate and inform you of your academic and extracurricular performance.
- To disseminate you knowledge of the highest ethical, scientific, cultural, technological and professional level.
- If requested, to provide you with financial aid, scholarships and/or loans, if you met stipulated requirements.
- To follow up your requests of information.
- To send you information on academic and administrative matters.
- If requested, to register and participate in programs of connection, including internationalization, with educational and non-educational institutions abroad.
- To create your student profile and assign a student ID number.
- To identify you in exams.
- To manage your academic studies at ITESM.
- To manage access to the ITESM facilities.
- To manage electronic access to ITESM’s systems and technological infrastructure.
- To contact your family members or third-party contacts in case of an emergency.
- To formulate weekly, monthly and annual reports.
- To manage the corresponding invoicing and collection processes.
- To produce identifications.
- To purchase and sell certificates.
- To revalidate and award credit for studies, and to complete the necessary procedures with the corresponding educational authorities.
- To enroll you in extracurricular events and/or activities in which you participate as a representative of ITESM.
- For surveys and evaluations related to the quality of products and services we offer (ECOA and ECAG)
- When applicable, to keep record of your credit behavior and history.
- In the cases that require it, to send to the database of the credit bureau in case you fail to comply with the obligation of payment derived from the legal relationship with ITESM, In this case, the use of your information will be governed by co-ordination with what is established by the “Ley para Regular las Sociedades de Información Crediticia”
- In case you apply, to manage your profile in our Job Listing Center and recommend you with companies belonging to the job market of ITESM with respect to job vacancies.
- For the application of surveys, evaluations, references and necessary information regarding ITESM, the foregoing for the evaluation of companies dedicated to classify, evaluate and/or position different academic institutions.
- To make statistical reports, after application of dissociation of the personal data mechanism.
C. As Alumni:
- To create an alumni profile.
- If applicable, to generate the ID tag that identifies you as an ITESM alumni.
- If applicable, to manage the corresponding invoicing and collection procedures.
- If applicable, to keep a record of your credit history and behavior.
- In the cases that require it, to send to the database of the credit bureau in case you fail to comply with the obligation of payment derived from the legal relationship with ITESM, In this case, the use of your information will be governed by co-ordination with what is established by the “Ley para Regular las Sociedades de Información Crediticia”
- In case you apply, to manage your profile in our Job Listing Center and recommend you with companies belonging to the job market of ITESM with respect to job vacancies.
- For the application of surveys, evaluations, references and necessary information regarding ITESM, the foregoing for the evaluation of companies dedicated to classify, evaluate and/or position different academic institutions.
- To statistical reports, after the application of personal data dissociation mechanisms.
We inform you that you cannot oppose for ITESM to stop processing your data for the primary and necessary purposes mentioned above, because its processes are necessary to comply with the obligations arising from the relationship between you and ITESM.
Secondary purposes
In addition, ITESM will use your personal information for the following purposes that are not necessary for the requested service, but will enable us to offer you the best possible assistance:
- To send you promotional information on academic programs, courses, diploma courses, seminars, symposiums, extra-academic workshops and events.
- To use and divulge your personal image (photograph, video, etc.) to generate informative and promotional materials.
- To disseminate congratulations and other celebrations and special days, as well as recognition of outstanding achievements.
- To administer surveys and evaluations to improve the quality of the products and services we offer.
- To conduct consumer habit surveys.
- To promote ITESM’s academic life, research, extension, and sports, cultural recreational and social events.
- To send you publicity and communications for marketing, telemarketing or financial campaign purposes.
- To invite you to meetings, events, forums and associations with alumni.
If you do not wish your personal information to be processed for any or all of the additional purposes, please contact us immediately by email at the following address: datospersonales@itesm.mx, indicating your full name, your relationship with the Institute and that you do not want your personal data to be treated for secondary purposes.
Refusal to permit the use of your personal information for additional purposes will not constitute a reason to deny you the services requested or to terminate the relationship established with us.
Transfers
In order to fulfill the aforementioned necessary purposes or any others required by law or the competent authorities, ITESM will transfer the necessary information to the following organizations and for the following ends:
If you do not want ITESM to transfer your data for the transfers in which your consent is required, please send an email to datospersonales@Iitesm.mx, indicating your full name, your relationship with the Institute and the purpose o purposes for which you do not want your personal data to be transfered.
ARCO rights and/or Consent Revocation
You or your legal representative can exercise any of your rights of access, rectification, cancellation or opposition (hereinafter “ARCO rights”), and revoke your consent for the processing of your personal information by sending an email to the “Departamento de Datos Personales” of ITESM to datospersonales@itesm.mx following the procedures, requierments and time limits set of in website https://tec.mx/en/arco-rights-andor-revocation-consent.
Limitation and/or divulgation of your information
You can limit the use or divulgation of your personal information by sending your request to ITESM to the email datospersonales@itesm.mx. If your request is appropriate, you will be added to ITESM’s exclusion list.
Use of Cookies
We use cookies and other technologies on some of our webpages, which allows us to monitor your behavior as an Internet user and to provide you with a better service and experience on browsing our site. The personal information that can be obtained through the use of these technologies are: Identifiers, session username and password, region where you are located, type of browser, type of operating system, date and time of starting and finishing a session, webpages visited, searches completed and advertising reviewed.
