Celebrating an anniversary is an opportunity to connect with all of us who are part of the Tec Community. 

Eight decades ago, we started in a house with 350 students. Today, we have almost 100,000 and a presence in 20 states of Mexico. Since our beginnings, we have promoted innovation in education, entrepreneurship, and the development of leaders who transform and have a positive impact.

That is why I invite you to celebrate this incredibly special year and to feel proud to be part of Tec. 

Live this 80th anniversary intensely.

Tec has changed: from good to the best
What is a challenge?

The Education model defines a challenge as a real-life problematic situation that is relevant and connected to the context, and designed to enable students to, on solving the same, develop their competencies. Students will tackle from one to five challenges per semester, meaning that during their degree program they will be exposed to more than 30 challenges with increasing degrees of complexity.

An Educational Partner is a public or private, national or foreign organization, of any size and in any sector, with which Tecnológico de Monterrey decides to link up to implement academic challenges for its different undergraduate programs, promoting the contact of its students, guided by their professors, with the real practice of their discipline.

What are the commitments of an Education Partner?
  • Share problems from their organization or real-life situations.
  • Collaborate with the professor-coordinator in adapting a challenge in the company so that it will help to develop students’ competencies.
  • Open the doors of the company or organization to work in collaboration with students and professors.
  • Provide personnel, time, and resources to facilitate the execution of the challenge, according to the agreed terms.
How can you participate as an Education Partner?

To become an Education Partner, you first need to formalize your participation through an agreement. Before doing so, it is important to identify three types of educational units in which you can collaborate:

This is a total-immersion learning experience in which students work for a week participating in challenging activities connected to their context.

This is a semester-long total-immersion learning experience. Students strengthen their competencies by solving highly demanding challenges, integrating everything they have learned across their curriculum. Available from August 2022.

¿En qué consiste un reto?

El Modelo educativo define al reto como una situación problemática real, relevante y vinculada con el entorno que está diseñada para exponer al alumno y, al resolverlo, desarrollar sus competencias. Un estudiante podrá enfrentar de 1 hasta 5 retos por semestre, de forma que, durante su carrera, estará expuesto a más de 30 retos que van incrementando su grado de complejidad.

Para el éxito del aprendizaje basado en retos, la figura del socio formador es clave a fin de fortalecer su preparación para enfrentar los desafíos del futuro de México y el mundo.

¿Cómo es un socio formador?

Un Socio Formador es una organización pública o privada, nacional o extranjera, de cualquier tamaño y en cualquier sector, con la que el Tecnológico de Monterrey decide vincularse para implementar retos académicos de sus diferentes programas universitarios promoviendo el contacto de sus estudiantes, guiados por sus profesores, con la realidad y la práctica de su disciplina.

¿Cuáles son los beneficios de ser Socio Formador?

Recibir una perspectiva fresca y externa sobre su organización, aportada por alumnos dispuestos a brindar propuestas de solución innovadoras con la asesoría de sus profesores.

  • Aporta problemáticas de su organización o situaciones reales.
  • Colabora con el profesor-coordinador en la adaptación de un reto dentro de su empresa que contribuya al desarrollo de competencias de los alumnos.
  • Abre las puertas de su empresa u organización para trabajar en colaboración con los alumnos y profesores.
  • Aporta personal, tiempo y recursos para facilitar la ejecución del reto de acuerdo a los términos acordados.
     
¿Cómo puedes participar como Socio Formador?

Para participar como socio formador, se requiere formalizar tu participación a través de un convenio. Antes de realizarlo, es importante ubicar los tres tipos de unidades de formación en que puedes colaborar:

Es una experiencia de aprendizaje de inmersión total en donde los alumnos trabajan a lo largo de una semana participando en actividades retadoras vinculadas con el entorno.

Es una experiencia de aprendizaje de inmersión total durante un semestre académico. El alumno fortalece sus competencias mediante la solución de retos de mayor desafío, en la que integra el aprendizaje adquirido a lo largo de su plan de estudios. Disponible a partir de agosto 2022.
