The objective of the B.A. in Journalism program is to prepare professionals with a solid multidisciplinary training that allows them to innovate in the field of news media and strategic communication. Our graduate designs, produces and implements comprehensive communication and information strategies for the journalistic industry and for public and private institutions within today's global and dynamic environment. As a graduate, you will be able to work as a journalist, creator of news content, information analyst and journalistic business entrepreneur.
Competencies
- Conduct journalistic research on social, political, economic and cultural phenomena, based on theories and methods of social sciences and the humanities.
- Produce news content based on journalistic techniques and procedures.
- Practice journalism, applying the principles of the right to information, freedom of expression and media audiences’ rights within the framework of fundamental rights.
- Apply innovative, specialized technologies with transmedia convergence criteria in news production.
- Generate journalistic business models based on innovation, sustainability and social-impact criteria.
- Analyze journalistic information that contributes to strategic decision making in institutions and organizations.

Specialization

You have decided between diversifying or focusing deeply in your major, which you will achieve by choosing a concentration or a stay, to name a few of your options. The TEC Semester is a flexible time to start.
- You will develop the competencies related to your specialization, increasingly connected to your passions, interests and plans.
- By passing a concentration, you will develop your competencies, and, on graduating, will be a candidate for obtaining a Diploma in that concentration, after meeting the established requirements.
