Cardiovascular and Metabolomics Medicine

About the Group

Characterize the cellular and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the development of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases to propose and evaluate new experimental therapies for prevention and treatment in preclinical models, which will lay the scientific basis for conducting clinical studies with patients

Research lines

• Study of novel immuno-modulation and thrombosis mechanisms in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
• Characterization of pathological alterations in intracellular calcium management during the development of heart failure and arrhythmias.
• Regulation of energy metabolism and mitochondrial function in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
• Development of nanomaterials with biomedical applications in the cardiovascular area.
• Development of new molecules of natural origin and micronutrients for the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
