Science Gallery Monterrey
Brave New Future brings together research projects at the intersection of art and science that explore how we imagine possible futures in a time marked by technological transformation and planetary change. Presented at Science Gallery Monterrey from November 27, 2024 to July 15, 2025, the exhibition inaugurated the gallery’s physical space at Expedition FEMSA and welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, particularly university students and the public.
The projects addressed themes such as the relationship between artificial intelligence and human creativity, the environmental consequences of contemporary systems of production and consumption, and emerging questions around neurorights, mental privacy, and identity in technologically mediated societies. Some projects imagined new alliances between humans, machines, and living organisms, while others turned to oceans, coral reefs, and bodies of water as key sites for imagining future forms of life.
Through speculative environments and possible organisms, the exhibition framed the future as a shared responsibility.
CONSCIOUSNESS (It’s Not What You Think) brings together research projects at the intersection of art and science that explore how we perceive, feel, and construct the experience of consciousness. Opening at Science Gallery Monterrey on October 23, 2025, the exhibition forms part of the gallery’s program at Expedition FEMSA and will remain on view until mid-2026.
The projects combine contemporary art, neuroscience, technology, and philosophy to investigate how consciousness emerges through the relationship between the brain, body, and environment. Through immersive installations, interactive experiments and ambients, the works explore phenomena such as inner voice, memory, and technological systems—including artificial intelligence—that may extend the mind or mediate new forms of connection and communication. Among neural signals, mental landscapes, and altered perceptions, the exhibition opens a space where consciousness appears less as a certainty and more as a mystery still unfolding.
