Mapping of Human Flourishing in Latin America
"Recognizing the research landscape and leadership capabilities in the study of Human Flourishing in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Brazil" is a research project led by Tecnológico de Monterrey, with the participation of researchers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, University of the Andes (TRIADA), as well as Nossa Terra Firme. Additionally, professors from prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, New York University, and Baylor University are involved.
The main purpose of this project is to map academic research on human flourishing in Latin America; for which our institution won a research grant from the Templeton World Charity Foundation (TWCF).

In the early days of the project...
A bibliometric survey was conducted using prestigious bibliographic databases with the objective of including the largest number of authors and topics related to human flourishing, such as sustainable development, quality of life, subjective well-being, buen vivir, among others...

Next steps in the research...
Based on the results of the bibliometric study applied in the Latin American region, 57 expert researchers were selected in different areas of human knowledge, providing an approach to multiple points of view from economics, psychology, social sciences, engineering, and urban planning, among others. Aside from researchers, social leaders and civil organizations were also included.

The International Seminar
On December 5th and 6th, 2024, we hosted the International Seminar on Human Flourishing in Latin America, with speakers from several international universities such as Tecnológico de Monterrey, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad de los Andes and the Nossa Terra Firme Association from Brazil, as well as professors from Harvard University, Baylor University, New York University, the Presencing Institute, citiesRISE and Annecy Behavioral Science Lab.
