Overview

Dr. Kruse’s research focuses on how values shape leadership. His interests include the fields of ethics, motivation and decision making. He is particularly interested in the implications of problem resolution, negotiation and social innovation. 

He has co-authored a number of articles, amongst which are "Boosting State Humility Via Gratitude, Self-Affirmation, and Awe: Theoretical and Empirical Perspectives", "The Relationship Between Physician Humility, Physician-Patient Communication, and Patient Health", "An upward spiral between gratitude and humility" and "People claim objectivity after knowingly using biased strategies". In 2011, he received the award for the best article, from the Department of Organizational Behavior , Academy of Management of San Antonio (Texas, United States.)

Dr. Kruse was a postdoctoral researcher at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, and a postdoctoral research associate (2013-2015) at the University of Princeton (USA.)

Overview

Dr. Serna is a Zootechnical Agronomist Engineer graduate from Tec de Monterrey, Monterrey and has a master's degree in nutrition and a doctorate in Food Engineering from Texas A&M University. He has worked and consulted for Mexican and international businesses as well as agencies such as the National Center for Food Research, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, US Agency for International Development, Gamesa, GIMSA, Química SUMEX, Omega Tech and other organizations related to food and nutrition.

His research work is carried out as part of the Nutriomics and Emerging Technologies Chair, a Biotechnology research group at Tec de Monterrey. He is also the director of the Center for Protein Research and Development (CIDPRO). As a professor, he has mentored more than 70 master's level students and ten doctorate level students. His research specialties are the processing of cereals and oilseeds, the extraction and characterization of phytochemicals for medicinal use and the extraction of new generation proteins.

He has published thirteen books, 73 chapters, and more than 250 articles in prestigious scientific journals. Thirteen encyclopedia articles and inventor of 12 granted patents, with three more applied for. Dr. Serna has been recognized with an honorary doctorate by the University of Sonora, by the American Society for Nutrition, the American Association of Cereal Chemists, the American Association of Quality Consulate, the Institute of Food Technology and the Academy Mexican of Sciences.

Awards for his teachings and especially research include the Luis Elizondo Award in 2003, and the Yum Kax Award in 2008 for his work with nixtamalized corn products, the Agrobio Award in 2012, and the Rómulo Garza Award for the Insignia Professor of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. in 2014.

Overview

Romain Pouzou graduated from the Bachelor of Business of The European Business School of Bordeaux, France, and the MSc Finance of Queen’s University of Belfast, UK. He worked as an entrepreneur and CFO of several startups, including Forbes’ technological Top 100: Limonetik. He has been working at the Tecnológico de Monterrey since 2012 as a professor of Finance and Entrepreneurship, consultant, Regional Director of Social Entrepreneurship and currently Chair Professor of Entrepreneurship. Additionally, he is a mentor at the social business’ incubator: Unreasonable Mexico since 2013 and coauthor of the book “Mexico 10 Social Entrepreneurs.” 

He is currently involved as a consultant for lifelong learnings designing and implementing courses of financial thinking for the decision-making process of businesses’ leaders.

Overview

During her career at Tec de Monterrey, Dra. Solano currently works as Director of the Digital Evolution Center and the Digital Transformation HUB at the national level. She also served as Director of the Bachelor of International Business and as Regional Director of the Department of International Business and Logistics in the Mexico City Region. 

As consultor, Dra. Solano has advised more than 200 small and medium-sized companies in their innovation, internationalization and transformation processes. In 2010, she was the winner of the National Export Award of Mexico and has participated as an Evaluator of the National Export Awards of Mexico and Best Companies of Mexico. Likewise, she is a certified blockchain consultant by the Berkeley Fintech Institute; and conducts applied research on dynamic capabilities of the company for its digital advancement.

Solano is Director of the Council of HUB for Digital Transformation at Tec de Monterrey and is part of the "Innovation and New Technologies" and "Women in Technology" committee of the AMITI (Mexican Association of the Information Technology Industry). Also, she participates as an active member of the Working Group of the 2030 Agenda of the ON Global Compact (GTA2030), specifically promoting the fulfillment of the goals of objective No. 9 of the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals), focused on "Innovation and Technology" .

Overview

During her career at Tec de Monterrey, Dra. Solano currently works as Director of the Digital Evolution Center and the Digital Transformation HUB at the national level. She also served as Director of the Bachelor of International Business and as Regional Director of the Department of International Business and Logistics in the Mexico City Region. 

As consultor, Dra. Solano has advised more than 200 small and medium-sized companies in their innovation, internationalization and transformation processes. In 2010, she was the winner of the National Export Award of Mexico and has participated as an Evaluator of the National Export Awards of Mexico and Best Companies of Mexico. Likewise, she is a certified blockchain consultant by the Berkeley Fintech Institute; and conducts applied research on dynamic capabilities of the company for its digital advancement.

Overview

Prof. Ciro Rodríguez holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (1989) and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (1997). He worked in the automotive and machine tool industry. He was Staff Engineer at the Engineering Research Center for Net Shape Manufacturing in the USA. He is Visiting Scientist at the Osteoengineering Lab of The Ohio State University (2016 to 2018). He is currently Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Advances Materials at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He leads the research group in advanced manufacturing. 

His research interests include additive manufacturing, micromanufacturing, tissue engineering and technology innovation. His academic production includes two books, more than 52 journal articles and 7 issued patents. He has graduated 7 Ph.D. students and 40 M.S. students. He has been Principal Investigator of various research projects with funding from government agencies and industry, with total awards exceeding $ 2.5 million USD. 

Prof. Rodríguez has given invited lectures and courses in Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, USA, Italy, Venezuela and Mexico. He has been visiting scientist and teacher in Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, USA, Italy, and Portugal.
