Unidos por la transformación de la educación en México

  • El Programa consta de tres cursos con una duración de 40 horas cada uno.
  • Cada curso se imparte de forma asíncrona durante 4 semanas, con un webinar semanal a través de Zoom y actividades calendarizadas semanalmente, para garantizar el avance y cobertura de los materiales, así como entrega de evidencias.
  • Hay un proyecto final en el segundo curso, que integra los conocimientos aprendidos de los dos primeros cursos. El cual sirve al docente para llevarlo directo a aplicarlo en su aula, de acuerdo con la materia que haya elegido.
  • Los docentes llevan un acompañamiento de un o una mentor voluntario a lo largo del programa.
  • Se require de una calificación mínima de 80 en cada curso.
  • El certificado de participación, se entregará una vez acreditado el segundo curso.
  • El acceso al tercer curso es por medio de una invitación del programa del voluntariado por la educación a los estudiantes que hayan alcanzado un promedio mínimo de 85.
  • El tercer curso se imparte una vez al año y se invita a los candidatos calificados, de dos generaciones anteriores.

Dr. Rafael Rangel Sostmann

Es el creador original, autor principal e impulsor del Programa de Desarrollo Docente y del Voluntariado por la Educación, como una contribución a su país y a la sociedad. En 2021, a partir de un convenio de colaboración entre el Tecnológico de Monterrey y la Arizona State University se arranca con la formación de mentores voluntarios  y desde entonces se han ofrecido 6 ediciones del programa, en las que han participado continuamente instituciones educativas públicas de todo el país y han recibido el acompañamiento del Voluntariado por la Educación. Hasta 2011, trabajó por 44 años para el Tecnológico de Monterrey  de los cuales 26 fue rector.  Desde el 2011 hasta el 2021 el Dr. Rangel laboró para Arizona State University, como Presidential Professor of Practice for Education Innovation y como asesor especial del Presidente en ASU. A partir del año 2022, da su tiempo filantrópica y colaborativamente con un grupo de profesionistas denominado Voluntariado por la Educación.

Es un equipo de personas de distintas formaciones y trayectorias, que ofrecen su talento, tiempo y experiencia de forma altruista para dar soporte al Programa de Desarrollo Docente, buscando apoyar a la educación de México. Nuestro equipo se ha consolidado y sigue creciendo con voluntarios comprometidos que se han capacitado en el uso de la metodología propuesta por el programa para acompañar a los docentes en cada edición que se ha ofrecido. De este equipo depende en parte, el éxito, seguimiento y acompañamiento a los docentes participantes.

Existe una transferencia bidireccional de conocimiento, primero cuando cada voluntario apoya a los docentes en su desarrollo durante su paso por el programa, buscando contribuir en mejorar la experiencia de aprendizaje de los alumnos de la institución educativa a la que pertenece cada docente. Asimismo, busca crear lazos y un mayor compromiso de quienes conforman al Voluntariado por la Educación, desarrollándose de una forma diferente en lo personal y profesional, apoyando en el mentoreo.

Hambre Cero is a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) established by the United Nations. This initiative seeks to reduce food poverty and food waste by 2030. 

By 2022, it has been detected that more than 24 million people in Mexico live in food poverty. 

Tecnológico de Monterrey is an institution of society for society and that is why we join in the development of these objectives, promoting actions that have a significant impact. By 2023, we committed to collecting 80 tons of beans, rice and oil to donate to banks that are part of the National Food Bank Network.

Hunger is not the problem, people are the solution.

Core Lab: Preclinical Research

What is the Preclinical Research Core Lab?

It is a space designed to support research, education, and development activities.

Our goal is to support researchers in the development of experimental models for safety and efficacy testing of drugs, food, medical devices, among many others, as well as the generation of knowledge.

The unit assists researchers and offers external services in developing Experimental Models for safety and effectiveness tests.

CICUAL

The Institutional Committee for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (CICUAL) has the objectives of overseeing the Institutional Plan for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, as well as reviewing the facilities, validating operating procedures, and evaluating research protocols and other proposals involving the use of animals; following the specifications of NOM-062-200-1999.

CICUAL will ensure that all the rules stipulated in the Internal Regulations of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Biotherium are complied with.

Submission of protocols
  • Responsible internal investigator: Have a valid user number from the Biotherium.​
  • Request the Excel format, as appropriate: ​
    • CICUAL-OP-002: for experimental protocols with animals, preclinical research.​
    • CICUAL-OP-004: for teaching purposes.​
    • CICUAL-OP-005: for the handling of ex vivo specimens.​
  • Fill out the form: Request and read the management and welfare specifications for the species to be used (rodents or lagomorphs).​
  • Send the protocol to the CICUAL email for review and subsequent approval.​
    • Users participating in the protocol must have a valid user number from the Biotherium, otherwise they must request it from the Biotherium (ajruiz@tec.mx).​

Response times:​
New protocols: 7 calendar days (Monday to Sunday).
Addendums: 1-4 calendar days (Monday to Sunday), depending on the urgency and type of addendum.​

¿Qué es el Core Lab Investigación Preclínica?

Es un espacio diseñado para apoyar actividades de investigación, educación y desarrollo.

Nuestro objetivo es apoyar a investigadores e investigadoras en el desarrollo de modelos experimientales para pruebas de seguridad y eficacia de fármacos, alimentos, dispositivos médicos, entre muchos otros; así como la generación conocimiento.

Unidad que se crea para auxiliar a los investigadores y ofrecer servicio hacia el exterior en el desarrollo de Modelos Experimentales para pruebas de seguridad y eficacia.

CICUAL

El Comité Institucional para el Cuidado y Uso de Animales de Laboratorio (CICUAL) tiene como objetivos vigilar el Plan Institucional para el Cuidado y Uso de los Animales de Laboratorio, así como revisar las instalaciones, validar los procedimientos de operación y evaluar los protocolos de investigación y otras propuestas que involucre el uso de animales; siguiendo las especificaciones de la NOM-062-200-1999.

El CICUAL asegurará que se cumplan todas las normas estipuladas en el Reglamento Interno del Bioterio del Tecnológico de Monterrey.​

  • Solicitar el formato Excel, según corresponda: ​
    • CICUAL-OP-002: para protocolos experimentales con animales, investigación preclínica.​
    • CICUAL-OP-004: para enseñanza.​
    • CICUAL-OP-005: para el manejo de piezas ex vivo.​
  • Llenar el formato: Solicitar y leer las especificaciones de manejo y bienestar de la especie que se empleará (roedores o lagomorfos).​
  • Envío del protocolo al e-mail del CICUAL para su revisión y posterior aprobación.​
    • Los usuarios que participen en el protocolo deberán contar con número de usuario vigente por el Bioterio, en caso contrario deberán solicitarlo al Bioterio (ajruiz@tec.mx).​

Tiempos de respuesta:​

Protocolos nuevos: 7 días naturales (lunes a domingo).

Adendas: 1-4 días naturales (lunes a domingo), según la urgencia y tipo de adenda.​

Core Lab: Genomics

What is the Genomics Core Lab?

It is the Laboratory where Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is performed. Its vision is to contribute to strengthening research, knowledge generation, and transfer in Mexico through the generation and analysis of applied genomic data in various areas such as clinical medicine, genomic medicine, agribusiness, food, disease diagnosis, environmental sample study, genomic epidemiology, among others.

We aim to evolve towards a National Genomic Sequencing Laboratory, Certified for specific Sequencing Services and internal and external service.

The iSeq 100 is an ideal system for sequencing small genomes (bacteria, viruses, plasmids, etc.). It is ideal for carrying out 16s metagenomics studies.

This equipment permits deeper metagenomics studies, performing target gene sequencing, allowing us to obtain up to 15 Gb of information with 25 million readings and read lengths of 2 × 300 bp.

It is the largest equipment for short-length sequencing on the market; it is used when projects require massive sequencing of samples or to achieve greater sequencing depth and, therefore, more robust sequences.
