A very important part of our process is getting to know you in an integral way.
For this reason, we will ask you to fill out a form with questions previously established by Tec.

The résumé and the essay are determining elements for making an admission decision. Consult and complete both documents in the admission requirements section within the Solicitud Tec (in Spanish).

a. Share your résumé

The résumé is a brief description of your academic trajectory. It includes questions about the achievements, skills, and aptitudes that you have accomplished and developed during the last 3 years. It is important that you have evidence of the activities you describe there, as we may ask you to share them with us.

Include your participations in all areas, because achievements in each discipline will help you have an extraordinary résumé.

b. Write your essay

Let the words flow. Tell us in writing an experience that has helped you become the person you are today, your future expectations, and the reasons why you consider that you should be part of Tec de Monterrey.

e share with you some videos where you will find recommendations for preparing your résumé and essay.

Take into account the following characteristics:

  1. Tips for your résumé and essay (in Spanish)
  2. Advice for your essay (in Spanish)
  3. Advice for your résumé (in Spanish)

Important: You must have a valid official identification to present at any of the tests you take at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

1. Admission test: This test allows us to evaluate your mathematical and verbal skills.

The two options authorized by Tecnológico de Monterrey are:

a. Academic Aptitude Test (PAA)

You can select the date and time to take it. It is administered in our campuses and/or online in a proctored format. The result of this test is for the exclusive use of Tecnológico de Monterrey, so we do not issue score reports.

b. Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT)

Both the SAT and ACT tests are accepted for the admission process.

If you decide to take the SAT or ACT test, register at: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/registration (for SAT) or the corresponding ACT registration site.

If your native language is English, you can register at: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/registration/international-testing.

nce you register, do not forget to include Tecnológico de Monterrey’s code so that we can receive your results.

In the requirements section of Solicitud Tec (in Spanish), you will find the option to upload your SAT or ACT score report.

Once you upload your score report, there is a validation process that takes up to 5 business days. Please take this into account for the date you complete your admission file.

We recommend that before taking the Academic Aptitude Test (PAA), you use the different tools we have available to prepare:

2. Institutional English Placement Exam (EUC)

This exam allows us to evaluate your level of English proficiency.

On the Solicitud Tec page (in Spanish), you can select the date and time you wish to take the EUC.

Likewise, you can demonstrate your English language proficiency through the authorized exams by Tecnológico de Monterrey, such as: TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test; the home edition version is not valid), B2 First - First Certificate in English, B2+ FCE - First Certificate in English, Preliminary PET - Preliminary English Test, Pearson Placement Test or Pearson Level Test.

In Solicitud Tec, in the requirements section, you will find the option to upload proof of any of these exams. We review that the certificate is valid/current.

Note: If your result on the EUC during the admission process is equivalent to A1 or A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), it will be mandatory for you to take English courses as part of your academic load as follows:

  • Level A1: during the first and second semester
  • Level A2: during the first semester

The academic load may not exceed 18 credits, including the English leveling requirement to graduate; you must demonstrate a B2 level of English in accordance with the CEFR. All Tec students have as a requirement to demonstrate B2 English proficiency.

Once the process is completed, your file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. The result will be notified by email and you will be able to check it on the Solicitud Tec page (in Spanish).

Possible results from the Admissions Committee:

  • Admitted: You have been accepted to the program.
  • Admitted with additional requirements: The Admissions Committee may request additional requirements to complete your file and make a decision (for example: retake the admission test and/or English exam, update your GPA, personal interview, letters of recommendation, or any complementary evaluation).
  • Waitlisted: You are on the waiting list.
  • Not admitted to the program: You have not been admitted.
  • Not admitted: You have not been admitted.

The decision of the Admissions Committee is final, and the selection process is private and confidential. Tecnológico de Monterrey reserves the right of admission and will not reveal the reasons for the decision made.

If you have already been admitted to the degree program and campus on the specified date, the next step is to make your Place Reservation. This involves covering a payment of $5,000 MXN to $8,000 MXN (depending on the program with a limited quota). The Place Reservation is made on the Solicitud Tec page and consists of two concepts:

  1. Amount to be paid for the first semester tuition that guarantees your place in the professional degree program at Tecnológico de Monterrey.*
  2. Coverage of the Place Reservation for students who decide to guarantee their place in the professional degree program at Tecnológico de Monterrey. In case of withdrawal, the person responsible for the registered payment in the Admission application will be refunded.

*The Place Reservation must be paid within the 15 calendar days prior to the date on which admission to the program is requested. If the student does not make the payment within those 15 days after being admitted, they may request to join later, but they will not be able to do so within the 15 days following the payment. If the Place Reservation payment is made within those 15 days, the refund may be requested up to the start of classes for the semester to which admission was requested, and the refund may be processed.

**This amount is non-refundable and non-transferable. It cannot be assigned to family members or third parties, nor used as payment for other services.
