We have successfully provided our professors, students, and collaborators with unique AI-driven solutions that enhance their activities. Today, our goal is to extend this value beyond the borders of Tec de Monterrey through TECgpt on AIGEN.
Our aim is to foster collaboration among educational institutions, creating a more inclusive ecosystem that embraces a wider range of valuable use cases and encourages the contribution of our brightest talents for the benefit of all.
A Glimpse into the History
On November 30, 2022, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT to the general public.
During the first week of December 2022, Tec de Monterrey began testing to develop valuable use cases with OpenAI's ChatGPT.
In January 2023, Microsoft announces the general availability of Azure OpenAI Service in partnership with OpenAI and possible users had to apply to use it.
Tec de Monterrey is the first university in Latin America to apply for the use of Azure OpenAI, with permission and access granted on January 24, 2023.
On June 12, 2023, Tecnológico de Monterrey completed the development of the first version of TECgpt and officially launched this ecosystem for the entire Tec community on September 28 of the same year.

An ecosystem of tools and a development framework created by Tec de Monterrey for Generative AI to create purpose-specific software components and solutions that can be consumed directly or integrated through other enablers, all within a private, secure, managed, and customizable environment.

A modular and reusable code unit based on generative Al that encapsulates a specific functionality. Designed to be independent, interchangeable, and reusable, the components can be integrated with others to build complete applications or systems.
TECbot, our Institucional Virtual Assistant is an example of a solution where we have integrated TECgpt components.

Generation of customized skills based on prompt engineering that can be executed on generative models.

Automatic generation of agents to which can be defined: Personality. Default generative model. Training information. Associate functions (JSON). Select a skill to associate with it. Skill integration.

AIGEN – TECgpt Open Edition´s registratio
Tecnológico de Monterrey, alongside the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE), is summoning for applications to join the Artificial Intelligence Global Education Network (AIGEN), a practice community aiming to catalyze the potential of artificial intelligence applications in Higher Education through several actions:
- Supporting the artificial intelligence tools and platform’s adoption.
- Advising, regarding institutional guidelines creation for an ethical and responsible use.
- Providing training and open educational resources on the pedagogical use of artificial intelligence.
- Creating a sharing space for universities and their experiences.
- Measuring the impact of tools on teaching and learning.
- Developing open-source intelligence tools
This form is intended for institutions interested in joining AIGEN with the usage of TECgpt Open Edition platform.
