Intelligent Systems

About the Group

This group conducts basic and applied research to develop intelligent systems for solving problems across a wide range of application areas including optimization and logistics, ambient intelligence, web semantics, healthcare, forecasting and business intelligence, among others.

The investigation focuses on the development of innovative heuristic, metaheuristic and hyper-heuristic algorithms based on computational intelligence and other techniques to model and understand the complexity of the interaction between problems and algorithms with the intention to develop an automated and adaptable computational platform to efficiently solve a variety of real-world problems.

The group also explores strategies such as multi-agent systems, web semantics and data mining for integrating models and methodologies to trace a path toward intelligent organizations and more personalized systems.

Sistemas Inteligentes

Sobre el Grupo

Este grupo realiza investigación básica y aplicada para el desarrollo de sistemas inteligentes para resolución de problemas a través de una amplia gama de áreas incluyendo la optimización y logística, inteligencia ambiental, semántica web, salud, previsión e inteligencia de negocios, entre otros. La investigación se centra en el desarrollo de innovador heurístico, metaheurística y algoritmos de hiper-heurística basados en inteligencia computacional y otras técnicas para modelar y entender la complejidad de la interacción entre los problemas y algoritmos con la intención de desarrollar una plataforma computacional automatizada y adaptable para resolver eficientemente una variedad de problemas del mundo real.

La investigación en el grupo también tiene como objetivo explorar estrategias tales como sistemas multi-agente, semántica web y minería de datos para la integración de modelos y metodologías para trazar un camino hacia las organizaciones inteligentes y sistemas más personalizados.

About the Group

The balance of the planet has been broken by population growth and voracious consumption, surpassing the speed with which the planet can cope. Therefore, it is necessary to develop technologies that allow the creation of strategies directed towards sustainability.
 

Research lines

• Development of scalable clean technologies as solutions to the decarbonization of the energy sector. Substitute energy sources/raw materials with low carbon sources.
• Circular economy, migration to net zero and positive effect on emissions.
• Equity and social perspective in technology projects.
• Capture of greenhouse gases and suspended solids.
• Application of data science and AI tools.

Economía circular, descarbonización y cambio climático

Sobre el Grupo

El equilibrio del planeta se rompió con el crecimiento poblacional y la voracidad en el consumo sobrepasando la velocidad con la que el planeta se sobrepone. Por lo cual es necesario desarrollar tecnologías que permitan crear estrategias dirigidas hacia la sostenibilidad.


Líneas de investigación

• Desarrollo de tecnologías limpias escalables como soluciones a la descarbonización del sector energético. Sustituir fuentes de energía/materias primas con fuentes de bajo contenido de carbono.
• Economía circular, migración a net zero y a efecto positivo en emisiones.
• Equidad y perspectiva social en proyectos tecnológicos.
• Captura de gases de efecto invernadero y sólidos suspendidos.
• Aplicación de ciencia de datos y herramientas de IA.
