Personal data and sensitive personal data processed by ITESM
To fulfill the data processing purposes indicated herein, ITESM must collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification data, including your personal image 
  • Contact data
  • Academic data
  • Employment data

Moreover, in order to fulfill the purposes indicated herein, ITESM will not collect or process any sensitive personal data.

Primary purposes

ITESM will process your personal information for the following primary and necessary purposes:

  • To address, record, and follow up on any requests and complaints you may file.
  • To offer training courses or programs according to your interests or profile.
  • To validate the veracity and quality of the information you provided.
  • To comply with the admission and enrollment terms, requirements, and procedures for the requested training course and/or program in which you wish to participate.
  • To evaluate, improve, manage, obtain, and grant the service (including the design and development of new services).
  • To enforce and follow up on institutional procedures and activities derived or assigned from institutional manuals, procedures, regulations, rules, codes, or policies, of the training course and/or program in which you have been admitted and are participating.
  • If applicable, to arrange and manage electronic access to the systems and technological infrastructure used by ITESM so that you can participate in the training course and/or program.
  • To share your name and email with the members of the team with which you will be collaborating. In addition, your identification data are shared when using systems or platforms that enable interaction with other participants in the training course and/or program.
  • To manage the issuance of the physical and/or digital documents which prove that you have completed the training course and/or program.
  • To process payments and invoicing of the services provided.

When you default on payments, to send your information to the credit bureau database, in which case, the use of your information will be governed in accordance with the Law to Regulate Credit Information Corporations.

To keep a historical record of and generate statistics on your participation in the training courses and/or programs.

Secondary purposes

If you agree, ITESM will use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To include you in the Alternative Learning Newsletter distribution list.
  • The legitimation of the aforementioned secondary purpose(s) is based on your consent.
  • Transfers

Based on the provisions of article 37 of the LFPDPPP (Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties), ITESM can transfer your personal data without the need for your consent in the following cases:

Controlling, subsidiary or affiliate companies under the common control of the responsible entity, or a parent company or any company from the same group as the responsible entity which operates under the same processes and internal policies.

The competent authorities for the cases set forth in the applicable legislation, in the event that we receive a requisition for mandatory compliance.
When necessary for maintaining or fulfilling the legal relationship between you and ITESM, as in the following cases:

In addition, if you agree, ITESM will transfer your personal data to organizations for the following purposes:
